【辨析】 terrify, frighten, scare
terrify, frighten, scare都可以作动词，表示“恐吓、惊恐”之意，但语气强弱不同： terrify语气最强，表示极度恐惧；frighten是普通用词，使用广泛；scare在三者中语气最弱。frighten 和scare 在口语中有时可以互用，但frighten还有突然受到惊吓的意思，scare却没有。
