【辨析】 terrify, frighten, scare
terrify, frighten, scare都可以作动词,表示“恐吓、惊恐”之意,但语气强弱不同: terrify语气最强,表示极度恐惧;frighten是普通用词,使用广泛;scare在三者中语气最弱。frighten 和scare 在口语中有时可以互用,但frighten还有突然受到惊吓的意思,scare却没有。
