【答】1)play此处用作可数名词，意为“剧本”。作为可数名词还可表示“戏剧；表演”。play还可用作不可数名词，表示“游戏；玩耍；比赛”。例如：
Let’s go to see a new play this evening.
The TV play is over.
Look! Those boys are at play.
2)play用作及物动词时的含义较多，用法也不同。play表示“玩”时，后可接表示“牌、游戏、棋类”等名词；表示“打、踢、参加”时，后可接表示“球类、体育活动、比赛”等名词，此时这些名词前不加冠词；表示“吹、拉、弹、演奏”乐器时，表示乐器的名词前要加定冠词the。例如：
Many people like playing cards.
It’s time to play games.
We often play football after class.
He is good at playing the piano.
3)play用作不及物动词时，常接介词with，表示“玩；玩耍”。例如：
The little boy is playing with a yoyo.
Don’t play with fire. Its very dangerous.

He gave her an apple.
The girl showed me her new dress.
提醒：间接宾语和直接宾语的位置可以互换，但其前必须使用介词to或for。如果直接宾语为人称代词宾格时，则用“主语 + 及物动词 + 直宾 + 介词 + 间宾”句型。例如：
She passed him the salt.
= she passed the salt to him.
My father bought me a computer.
= My father bought a computer for me.
