1. interest n. & v.
interest用作不可数名词时意为“兴趣，趣味”；用作动词时意为“使（人）感兴趣”，其主语多为事物。例如：
He shows great interest in music.
The book interests me.
提醒：1)interesting是形容词，意为“有趣的”，作表语时，主语通常是物；作定语时，它既可修饰人，也可修饰物。例如：
The film is very interesting.
Mr Bean is an interesting man.
I have an interesting story to tell you.
2)interested是由动词interest加后缀ed构成的形容词。意为“感兴趣的”，其主语一般是人，常构成短语“be / get / become interested in ...”。例如：
He is very interesting and interested in everything.
When he was only a child, he got interested in science and wanted to be a scientist in the future.
2. offer v.
offer是及物动词，意为“提供；（主动）给予”，相当于give，后可接名词、代词或动词不定式作宾语。例如：
The man offered 500 yuan for the red horse.
He offered to help us.
提醒：offer后还可接双宾语，即offer sb. sth.(= offer sth. to sb.)。例如：
He offered me a nice room.
= He offered a nice room to me.
3. impossible adj.
impossible意为“不可能的”，由形容词“possible”+否定前缀“im”构成。可以表示否定的前缀还有ab，dis，il，in，un等。例如：
normal→abnormal；like→dislike；legal→illegal；
active→inactive；important→unimportant
