Kids turn lemonade into money
You are never too young to start doing things. In Western countries, such as the U.S. and
How do they do? First, kids need to buy fresh lemons to make lemonade. They put lemon juice into glasses with ice, sugar and water. Then they set up stands(架子,台) on the street.
It’s important for them to know the weather. Most people like to visit the stands on warm days. Clever kids usually find a place with a lot of traffic. Then they set up the stands and put up posters(海报) near the area. The posters tell people where and when the lemonade is sold. As people go by, the kids call out, “Fresh lemonade!” or “Get your ice-cold lemonade here!”
A small glass might cost 25 cents, and a large one could be about 50 cents. Over the summer, smart kids can make about $200~300. Many kids give the money to charities(慈善机构).
Sometimes kids try to compete(竞争) with
each another. Are you good at it? Why not give it a go?
