Conversation A
Trevor tells his friend Beth he wants to join her at the next cosplay convention.
Beth: I’m shocked! You said you wouldn’t be caught dead in a cosplay costume!
Trevor: Well, your enthusiasm has finally worn me down.
Beth: So, you’re going to give it a go? Who do you want to be?
Trevor: Vash the Stampede.
Beth: Great! Have you bought your fabric yet?
Trevor: I’m not making a costume! I tried to sew in school once; all I got was a shirt with two crooked arms and an F.
Beth: I remember that!
Trevor: So, instead of embarrassing myself again, I think I’ll just pick something up at the costume shop.
Conversation B
Beth: But then you run the risk of looking exactly like someone else. Where is your creativity, your imagination, your sense of adventure?
Trevor: I guess you’re right. Vash is one-of-a-kind, so he deserves an original costume.
Beth: I know all the secrets to good costume construction.
Trevor: So, where do we start?
Beth: First, we’ll go to the secondhand store. Then we’ll move on to the art store to get all the supplies we need.
Trevor: If we work together, it won’t be long till we’re dressed to kill—
Beth: Just like Vash!
