雄鹰乐队成立于1971年，组团之初一共 有四个成员，主唱兼鼓手唐·亨利(Don He- nley)，主唱吉它兼键盘葛伦·佛莱（Genn Frey），吉它手班尼·林登，贝司手伦第· 麦斯勒。 组成乐团构想人是唐·亨利和葛伦·佛 莱，二人是1971年在吟游诗人俱乐部认识的， 后来认识了班尼和伦第，四个小伙子志同道 和，满腔热血，雄鹰乐队应运而生。 乐团成立后，他们超强的实力，一开始 就受到了许多歌迷的爱戴，乐团每个团员都 擅长写曲，而且每个团员都有很好的演唱技 巧，都能胜任演唱一角，自然乐队在和声及 编曲方面技高一筹。 1972年乐团在伦敦完成了第一张专辑， 作品充满了典型的乡村摇滚风格。代表作《 Take It Easy》在当年夏天横扫整个美国。 拉着他们又推出了一张具有整体概念的唱片 专辑《Desperado》。 1974年唐·费尔德加入了乐团，这使乐 团阵容更为强大，唐·费尔德与班尼·林登 原是佛罗里达的同学，在吉它演奏上很有造 诣，他的加入使乐团伴奏声部更加丰满，而 且还提升了乐队团的创作素质。同年4 月当 《On The Border》 推出后，雄鹰更向前迈 进了一步，进入了超级乐团行列并使他们在 葛莱美奖中获得两项提名。 1976年班尼·林登离队由乔·沃什接替。 1977年伦第·麦斯纳也决定离队，由摩西· B·苏特接任。 70年代中期“雄鹰”乐团一连串出击都 获得了满堂彩，《One Of These Night》获 得了5周冠军，《New Kid In Town》入榜第 一周便升上了48名，还有大家都很熟悉的《 加州旅馆》（Hotel California），在1977 年获得8 周冠军，歌曲特殊之处在于唐·费 尔德与乔·沃什所的双吉它效果。它可以说 是雄鹰在最佳状态，最佳组合之下完成的一 首旷世之作，它的销量突破了1500万张。雄 鹰可以说是美国最伟大的摇滚乐团。 在走过了一系列辉煌成就之后，“雄鹰 ”乐队开始走下坡路，其成员变动造成不稳 定因素，核心人物唐·亨利与葛伦·佛莱意 见不和，乐队于1982年发行了最后一张集锦 唱片后宣布解散。
