A judge in Pittsburgh has annulled a woman's two-month marriage after she said she didn't remember the ceremony.
Alma Tremmel, 32, was in a critical condition, and on a respirator in hospital when she married Edward Wert in April. Her lawyer, James Huff, said she was taking powerful drugs for pneumonia and depression, including morphine and Valium. "Any one of those things alone would have been enough to cloud her reasoning skills, let alone in combination," he added. Tremmel said she has a vague recollection of a hospital minister at her bedside. "I just remember flashes of people. I don't really remember much about the entire hospital stay," she said.
Blair County Judge Hiram Carpenter III granted the annulment, meaning under Pennsylvania law at least, Tremmel was never married to Wert, 35.
Virginia Wert, the groom's mother, said she was present for the wedding ceremony, as was Tremmel's mother, when Tremmel signed the licence application in her intensive care room. Wert didn't hire a lawyer and didn't contest the annulment, although he reaffirmed his love for her during court proceedings.

温特的母亲称，当时自己在场见证了婚礼，而阿尔玛的母亲也在重病房里亲眼看着阿尔玛签了婚书。温特并没有请律师辩护，也没有对法官的判决表示异议，但他一直重申自己深爱着阿尔玛。
