Syrian Phone Company is Behind World's Largest Sweet最大的糖果
A Syrian mobile phone company has broken the record for the world's largest sweet.
Spacetel Syria, the operator of "94" network, created the 53ft-long, 40ft-wide, four-tonne marzipan pistachio sweet. They needed 225 cooks, picked from all over Syria, to make it. The makers used 120kg of pistachio nuts, three tons of glucose, 1.5 tons of almonds, 2kg of vanilla, 630 litres of water, as well as bitter orange flower water.
Over 40,000 people were in the Hamdania stadium in Aleppo to see the world record attempt. The Guinness Book of Records were represented at the event to ratify the effort as a world record. The record attempt was conducted in front of a stadium of 40,000 people.
